Growth: It’s a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree, often grown for its leaves, seeds, and pods, all of which have nutritional and medicinal uses. 

Home gardens & farms: It’s grown both in home gardens and on a commercial scale in South Africa, particularly for health supplements, animal feed, and even water purification (from its seeds). 

Best in spring or summer when temperatures are warm. 
From cuttings: 
Use a 1-meter cutting from a mature tree. 
Stick it halfway into the soil and water lightly until roots develop. 
Maintenance: 
Prune regularly to encourage bushier growth and more leaves. 
Can grow up to 3–5 meters in one year under good conditions. 
Minimal pest problems. 

How to grow Moringa in South Africa 
Ideal Conditions: 
Sunlight: Needs full sun (6–8 hours/day). 
Soil: Prefers well-drained, sandy or loamy soil. Avoid heavy clay. 
Water: Drought-tolerant and frost-resistant, but water regularly when young. Avoid overwatering.
